Victim Services
MONSE’s Victim Services team promotes safety, healing, justice, and rights for victims and survivors of relational violence and exploitation, including access to a seamless web of multidisciplinary and comprehensive services to meet their short and long-term needs. We use a trauma-informed, healing-centered, and partnership-based approach to preventing violence and co-producing public safety.
In addition to providing services to victims of gun violence, a first for Baltimore City government, MONSE is employing a broadened definition of “victim,” recognizing that Baltimore must address the web of trauma for residents who have broadly been impacted by violence. This definition includes everyone from the direct victim of violence to witnesses, friends, and family of that individual.
What does the Victim Services Team do?
Our team helps facilitate city-wide services to families and individuals who have experienced traumatic or stressful experiences. These kinds of experiences tend to have a direct correlation to long-term negative health and social outcomes. Our programs are:
